Programs and employers are looking for these qualities—through supplementary applications, leadership profiles, portfolios, and compelling personal narratives. Yet most students lack the tools to articulate who they are, what they value, and where they fit.

Better Human, Better Student

We believe students can do hard, meaningful things. Unlike academic enrichment programs focused on grades and test scores, The TessArray Project develops the human skills that determine long-term success: adaptive resilience, authentic leadership, self-advocacy, and reflective practice. Central to our approach is teaching students to craft and tell their own story—learning to reframe experiences, analyze and articulate their values, and use informed decision making to guide their path forward. Our hands-on, in-person program blends drama and engineering-informed techniques, encouraging students to dig deep, take risks, improvise solutions, and craft practical plans for their implementation. Founded by two University of Toronto professors who have guided thousands of students to excel once they arrive at university, we know what skills students actually need to thrive beyond high school.

Over 2 days, students discover who they are, develop authentic leadership skills, master communication, build resilience, and craft compelling stories about themselves.

Your 7-Module Journey

  • Students use mind mapping and personal analysis tools to identify their  values and strengths, and connect these to future opportunities.

  • Students learn affinity diagramming to map barriers and opportunities ahead, developing strategies to navigate complexity with confidence.

  • Students explore different leadership styles, identifying approaches that align with their personal values and analyzing how to strengthen their leadership approach and develop impactful personal connections.

  • Students master practical strategies for giving and receiving feedback through role play, gaining awareness of how they operate in teams and how feedback shapes growth.

  • Through improv activities, students build confidence managing stress-inducing situations and develop strategies to operate outside their comfort zone.

  • Students develop written and oral pitches for a post-secondary opportunity of their choice, learning to articulate their value proposition, and receive constructive feedback.  

  • Students present 2-minute pitches for their chosen opportunity, set intentions to maintain momentum beyond the workshop, and celebrate their growth.

By the end of your TessArray Project, you will:

  • Understand your values deeply and how they guide your decisions

  • Tell compelling stories about who you are and what you bring to the table

  • Discover your leadership style and how to lead with confidence

  • Navigate feedback with grace and use it to grow

  • Build courage to operate outside your comfort zone

  • Articulate your value proposition for future opportunities

  • Develop reflective practice as a tool for navigating any transition ahead

Program Details

Dates: November 14-15th 2026 (Saturday and Sunday)

Times: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM (with lunch break)

Location: B Street Arts Hub (1100 Bathurst Street)

Program Cost: $300 as a charitable donation to PAIS (tax receipt provided)

For: Students entering Grade 11 or 12 in September 2026.

  • The program runs over 2 days (November 14-15) from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day. Both days are important as each module builds on the previous.

  • Yes. Students develop the self-knowledge, storytelling skills, and authentic leadership that universities look for in supplementary applications and interviews. But the skills go far beyond admissions—they prepare students for every transition ahead.
